Oh! Could I Find from Day to Day Lyrics Benjamin Cleveland, 1790

3 verses, meter C.M., public domain, free to print and project.

The words

Verse 1. Oh! could I find from day to day,
A nearness to my God;
Then should my hours glide sweet away,
And live upon thy word.

Verse 2. Lord! I desire with thee to live.
Anew from day to day,
In joys the world can never give,
Nor ever take away.

Verse 3. O Jesus! come and rule my heart
And I’ll be wholly thine;
And never, nevermore depart;
For thou art wholly mine.

Words copied from The Otterbein Hymnal (1892). They were published in 1790, so they are in the public domain in the United States, and your church may print them, show them and sing them without a license.
