Church presentation software for lyrics and slides, with 2026 prices

Church presentation software puts the song lyrics, Scripture readings and announcements on the screens in your sanctuary, and a volunteer at a computer moves the slides along with the service. Below are four paid programs and two free ones, with prices read off each company’s own page on October 13, 2026.

Prices

ProPresenter

ProPresenter comes from a company called Renewed Vision. A Standard subscription costs $289 a year or $29 a month for each computer that runs a service, and a Campus plan covers 20 computers for $649 a year. ProPresenter’s page says you can “edit and build shows even without needing to activate a seat,” so a volunteer can prepare Sunday on a home laptop without paying for a second seat. A church with one computer in the sanctuary pays $289 a year.

EasyWorship

EasyWorship’s Basic plan starts at $210 a year or $17.50 a month, and Premium starts at $330 a year or $27.50 a month with a library of backgrounds and countdown videos. The prices start there and rise with a church’s average weekly attendance. Both plans run on Windows and Mac, and the license covers every computer at one location.

Proclaim

Proclaim comes from Faithlife, the company behind Logos Bible Software. Every plan includes the full program on any number of computers, and the plans differ only in the media they include. On Air costs $269.99 a year, On Air with Pro Media costs $399.99, and the plan with partner media costs $999.99. Paying yearly saves up to 17% over paying monthly.

MediaShout

MediaShout is the one program here a church can buy once and keep. MediaShout 7 for Windows costs $599 and the Mac version costs $499, and a support plan with updates costs $199 a year after that.

FreeShow and OpenLP

FreeShow and OpenLP are free, open source programs built by volunteers, which means anyone may read and change their code. FreeShow’s page says it “is and always will be free,” and its code is published on GitHub, a site for sharing code, under the GPL 3.0 license, which keeps it free to use and change. OpenLP is “Free to download, free to use,” and it runs on Windows 10 or later, macOS 10.15 or later, and Linux. Both show lyrics and Scripture well, and both rely on volunteers for support, so test one for a month of rehearsals before Sunday depends on it.

What a volunteer needs on Sunday

Use the free trial for at least two weeks of rehearsals before you buy, and let the volunteer who runs Sunday make the choice after checking these four things.

1. The volunteer can see the next slide, so the words change before the congregation reaches the end of a line.
2. A song can be rearranged on the spot when the worship leader repeats a chorus.
3. A Bible passage goes on the screen by typing its reference, in the translation your church reads.
4. Next Sunday can be built at home, so nobody has to arrive early to type lyrics.

Keep the slides plain. Use large type, four lines at most, and a background dark or light enough to read from the back row. Here is a public domain hymn the way those rules turn out. Pick a hymn and the first verse appears as one slide.

The license for lyrics on a screen

Hymns whose words were published in 1930 or earlier are in the public domain in the United States, and a church can project them freely. Copy the words from an older source, because a modern hymnal may print an edited text or a new translation with its own copyright. A song published in 1931 or later is usually still under copyright, and CCLI, the company that licenses most worship songs to churches, sells a Church Copyright License that lets a church “Project lyrics from a computer or digital device.” Check that each song is covered by your license. Streaming or posting the service online needs a separate CCLI Streaming License, and CCLI’s page points churches that stream song recordings or backing tracks to its Streaming Plus License. Put each song’s title, writers, copyright line and your church’s CCLI license number on its last slide.
