About the position This position is a full-time permanent role at 40 hours a week, working Sunday-Thursdays. This position will report to our Youth Pastor. We would like this position to start as soon as possible. Staff members are expected to adhere to Rockharbor’s leadership guidelines [which can be provided upon request].

Youth Associate

Primary purpose of position The Youth Associate role serves to help accomplish the purpose of Rockharbor Youth through teaching, leading, and pastoral duties. This role will work alongside the youth pastor to teach Scripture, shepherd students, and develop student and volunteer leaders/ disciple makers, as well as a special emphasis on Middle School ministry.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute vision, strategy, and execution to the Rockharbor Youth ministry. Participate in all Youth planning and meetings.
• Share teaching load with the Youth Pastor including Sunday and Wednesday messages. Teaching 2-4 times per month.
• Own and organize Middle School Bible studies, Wednesday groups, and discipleship groups. Recruiting leaders, scheduling meeting times, contributing to curriculum writing with Youth Pastor.
• Create and oversee Middle School Student leadership team. Organizing monthly meetings with a core team, delegating youth roles, and helping develop leadership/ ministry skills.
• Owning and organizing Middle School specific events
• Bring consistent leadership to all Youth services and events including Sundays, Wednesdays, camps/ retreats, and Monthly events
• Shepherd/ pastor Youth students
• Partner with Youth Pastor in shepherding/ pastoring volunteer leaders, caring about their lives and helping them develop as leaders/ disciple makers
• Develop good relationships with Youth families, partnering with them in the discipleship of their students. Including parent communication, resourcing, meeting with them, and involving them in youth programming.
• Help uphold and enforce Rockharbor Youth standards and expectations for both students and leaders.

• Leadership Skills
• Communication and interpersonal skills
• Cooperative, servant hearted, and collaborative in team environments
• Demonstrated ability to teach Scripture in sermon and Bible study formats 2-4 times per month.
• Passion for the next generation and a vision for revival
• Completed or in the process of completing theological/ ministerial training
• 3+ Experience ministering to youth students
